But I have this against you, that you tolerate the woman, Jezebel, who calls herself a prophetess,
to teach and seduce My servants to commit sexual immorality, and to eat things sacrificed to idols
Revelation 2:20
(Revelation 2:20).
I gave her time to repent of her sexual immorality, but she refused (to repent)
(Revelation 2:21).
I tell you that I am about to cast her into a bed- and those who commit adultery with her- to
a great tribulation, unless they repent for what they undertake to do (for their deeds
or for what they are doing)
(Revelation 2:22).
I will kill her children with death, and all the churches will know that I AM He who
examines the minds and hearts. I will give to each one of you according to your deeds
(Revelation 2:23).
But I have this against you, that you tolerate the woman, Jezebel,
who calls herself a prophetess, to (falsely) teach and seduce My servants to
commit sexual immorality and to eat things sacrificed to idols.

It appears this name, Jezebel, stands alone here in this scroll and is not repeated in other
scrolls of Revelation. So, who was literal Jezebel?
Smith's Bible Dictionary states-
Jezebel (meaning chaste), was the (wicked) wife of Ahab, king of Israel (883 B.C.). She was a
Phoenician princess, daughter of Ethbaal king of the Zidonians. In her hands her husband became
a mere puppet (1 Kings 21:25). The first effect of her influence was the immediate establishment
of Phoenician (idol) worship on a grand scale in the court of Ahab. At her table were supported
no less than 450 prophets of Baal (1 Kings 16:31,21; 18:19). The prophets of
Jehovah were attacked on her orders and put to the sword (1 Kings 18:13; 2 Kings 9:7). At last,
the people, at the instigation of Elijah, rose against her ministers and slaughtered them at
the foot of (Mount) Carmel. When she found her husband (emotionally) down by his disappointment
at being thwarted by Naboth (1 Kings 21:7), she wrote a (legal) warrant in Ahab’s name, and sealed it
with his seal. To her, and not to Ahab, was sent the announcement that the royal wishes were
accomplished (1 Kings 21:14), and on her accordingly fell the prophet’s curse, as well as on
her husband (1 Kings 21:23), a curse fulfilled so literally by Jehu, whose chariot-horses
trampled out her life. The body was left in that open space called "the mounds," where offal
(animal waste) is thrown from the city walls (2 Kings 9:30-37) (for the wild dogs to eat).
It appears "spiritual Jezebel" stands alone here in this scroll of Revelation and is
not repeated in other scrolls of Revelation.
The word, prophetess, is a religious title. Not everyone who claims to be called by God is
called by God. Satan has his servants also. Jezebel was a prophetess of Satan.
Let us compare Jezebel to a real prophetess of God, Anna. God, through Doctor Luke, revealed
this-
Now there was one, Anna, a prophetess, the daughter of Phanuel, of the tribe of Asher.
She was of a great age, and had lived with a husband seven years from her virginity- and this
woman was a widow of about eighty-four years, who did not depart from the
temple, but served God with fastings and prayers night and day.
And coming in that instant she gave thanks to the Lord, and spoke of Him (Jesus) to all
those who looked for redemption in Jerusalem
(Luke 2:36-38).
(1 Timothy 4:1-2).
But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come...
(2 Timothy 3:1).
Preach the word! Be ready in season and out of season. Convince, rebuke, exhort, with all
longsuffering and teaching. For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine,
but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for
themselves teachers- and they will turn their ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to
fables. But you be watchful in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist,
fulfill your ministry
(2 Timothy 4:2-5).
And what agreement has the temple of God with idols? For you are the temple of the
living God. As God has said- I will dwell in them and walk among them. I will be their God,
and they shall be My people
(2 Corinthians 6:16).
Sexual Immorality

Revelation 2:21
I gave her time to repent of her sexual immorality but she refused.
God appears to reveal His time of mercy in several scrolls of Revelation:
God reveals it in the Alpha and Omega scrolls of Revelation-
It is revealed in Revelation Scroll Number One (the Alpha Scroll)-
Blessed is he who reads and those who hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those
things that are written in it- for the time is near
(Revelation 1:3).
And he said to me, "Do not seal the words of the prophecy of this book, for the time is at hand
(Revelation 22:10).
It is revealed here in Revelation Scroll Number Five-
And I gave her time to repent of her sexual immorality but she did not repent
(Revelation 2:21).
But the woman was given two wings of a great eagle, that she might fly into the
wilderness to her place, where she is nourished for a time and times and half a time, from
the presence of the serpent
(Revelation 12:14).
And another angel came out of the temple, crying with a loud voice to Him who sat
on the cloud- thrust in Your sickle and reap, for the time has come for you to
reap, for the harvest of the earth is ripe
(Revelation 14:15).
(Mark 1:14-15).
(Matthew 4:13-17).
Now turn from your sins and turn to God, so you can be cleansed of your sins. Then
wonderful times of refreshment will come from the presence of the Lord, and He will send
Jesus your Messiah to you again. For He must remain in Heaven until the time for the final
restoration of all things, as God promised long ago through His prophets
(Acts 3:19-21).
Therefore they stayed there a long time, speaking boldly in the Lord, Who was bearing witness
to the word of His grace, granting signs and wonders to be done by their hands
(Acts 14:3).
And do this, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep- for
now our salvation is nearer than when we first believed
(Romans 13:11).
(2 Corinthians 6:2).
(Ephesians 1:10).
...that at that time you were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of
Israel and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope and without God in the
world. But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far off have been brought near by the
blood of Christ
(Ephesians 2:12-13).
(Acts 1:7).
(Colossians 4:5).
(Luke 12:56-57).
Indeed I will cast her into a sickbed, and those who commit adultery with her
into great tribulation, unless they repent for what they undertake to do
(their deeds).
A sickbed (for an evil one in great tribulation) are words that appear to stand alone in this
scroll and are not repeated in other scrolls of Revelation. God is a God of War as He is
also known as the Lord of Armies (hosts). When attacked, He is quite capable of responding.
Sickness is one weapon He has in His arsenal but He would rather heal than destroy- and show
mercy to those who ask Him for it in repentance. God's judgement falls upon the wicked and I
believe this is what this scripture teaches. Many folks go to bed when sick but the place of
Jezebel's sin may be the place of her judgement. In other words, the bed of her sin
may be the place of her sickness and anguish.
Are there other scrolls in the bible that appear to reveal this? Yes. Here are a few that
appear to connect God's judgement with a wicked one's terminal sickness or death bed:
God said this to wicked ones-
Therefore I will also make you sick by striking you, by making you desolate because of your sins
(Micah 6:13).
(Job 33:19-21).
To Evil King Jehoram-
...a letter came to him from Elijah the prophet, saying- Thus says the Lord God of your father
David- because you have not walked in the ways of Jehoshaphat your father, or in the ways of
Asa king of Judah, but have walked in the way of the kings of Israel, and have made Judah and
the inhabitants of Jerusalem to play the harlot like the harlotry of the house of Ahab, and
also have killed your brothers, those of your father's household, who were better than
yourself, behold, the Lord will strike your people with a serious affliction- your children,
your wives, and all your possessions- and you will become very sick with a disease of your
intestines, until your intestines come out by reason of the sickness, day by day. Then it
happened in the course of time, after the end of two years, that his intestines came out
because of his sickness- so he died in severe pain
(2 Chronicles 21:12-19).
So on a set day Herod, arrayed in royal apparel, sat on his throne and gave an oration to them.
And the people kept shouting- the voice of a god and not of a man! Then immediately an angel of
the Lord struck him, because he did not give glory to God. And he was (taken to bed) and eaten
by worms and died
(Acts 12:21-23).
(Deuteronomy 7:15).
Blessed is he who considers the poor- the Lord will deliver him in time of trouble. The Lord
will preserve him and keep him alive, and he will be blessed on the earth- You will not deliver
him to the will of his enemies. The Lord will strengthen him on his bed of illness- You will
sustain him on his sickbed
(Psalm 41:1-3).
And Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the gospel
of the kingdom, and healing all kinds of sickness and all kinds of disease among the people
(Matthew 4:23).
...that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Isaiah the prophet, saying- He
Himself took our infirmities and bore our sicknesses
(Matthew 8:17).
And when He had called His twelve disciples to Him, He gave them power over unclean
spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all kinds of sickness and all kinds of disease
(Matthew 10:1).
Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over
him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer of faith will save the
sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven.
Confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The
effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much
(James 5:14-16).
"Those who commit adultery with her" are words that appear to stand alone in this
scroll and are not repeated in other scrolls of Revelation. What does this teaching mean?
It refers to those folks who want you to believe a false gospel and a false Jesus.
Jesus said- for false christs and false prophets will rise and show great signs and wonders to
deceive, if possible, even the elect
(Matthew 24:24).
How does that relate to spiritual adultery? In the Old Testament God had a spiritual wife- the
nation of Israel
(Isaiah 54:5, Jeremiah 3:14, Ezekiel 16:8). God wanted Israel to worship only Him- to love Him
and be true to Him. When Israel worshipped Satan through various gods and idols, it was
considered to be spiritual adultery to the point where she became a spiritual prostitute
(Hosea chapters one through fourteen). This was also the spiritual case with the ancient city
of Tyre (Isaiah 23:17-18). What happened then? Israel and Tyre went into slavery
(Isaiah 5:6). So, what is the teaching here in this verse of Revelation? It is a reminder and
a warning to God's Overcomers to beware of apostasy. This warning is written by God from time
to time in various scrolls of the bible. Here are some examples:
Then they understood that He did not tell them to beware of the leaven of bread, but of the
doctrine of the Pharisees and Sadducees
(Matthew 16:12).
For certain men have crept in unnoticed, who long ago were marked out for this
condemnation, ungodly men, who turn the grace of our God into lewdness and deny the only
Lord God and our Lord Jesus Christ
(Jude 1:4).
If anyone comes to you and does not bring this doctrine, do not receive him into your
house nor greet him for he who greets him shares in his evil deeds
(2 John 1:10-11).
What doctrine was this that the Apostle John was talking about? It is the doctrine that Jesus
Christ is God and that He is the only way to Heaven (John 14:6).
(Jeremiah 36:3).
Say to them- as I live- says the Lord God- I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked, but
that the wicked turn from his way and live. Turn, turn from your evil ways! For why should you
die, O house of Israel?
(Ezekiel 33:11).
I tell you, no- but unless you repent you will all likewise perish. Or those eighteen on whom
the tower in Siloam fell and killed them, do you think that they were worse sinners than all
other men who dwelt in Jerusalem? I tell you, no- but unless you repent you will all likewise perish
(Luke 13:3-5).
(2 Corinthians 12:20-21).
And a servant of the Lord must not quarrel but be gentle to all, able to teach, patient,
in humility correcting those who are in opposition, if God perhaps will grant them repentance,
so that they may know the truth, and that they may come to their senses and escape the snare of
the devil, having been taken captive by him to do his will
(2 Timothy 2:24-26).
I will kill her children with death, and all the churches will know that I AM He who
examines the minds and hearts. I will give to each one of you according to your
deeds.
When some wicked individuals on earth align themselves with Satan, embrace and commit evil,
and declare war against God, then God (The General and Lord of Armies), may respond by attacking
them in warfare. One of His weapons in His offensive arsenal is pestilence or disease.
Sometimes, in Revelation, the word, death, is used instead of the word, pestilence:
It is revealed in Revelation Scroll Number Five-
I will kill her children with death, and all the assemblies will know that I AM He
who searches the minds and hearts. I will give to each one of you according to your deeds
(Revelation 2:23).
It is revealed in Revelation Scroll Number Nine-
I saw, and behold, a pale horse. He who sat on him- his name was Death. Hades followed
with him. Authority over one fourth of the earth, to kill with the sword, with famine, with
death, and by the wild animals of the earth was given to them
(Revelation 6:8).
Therefore in one day her plagues will come- death, mourning, and famine- and she
will be utterly burned with fire- for the Lord God who has judged her is strong
(Revelation 18:8).
(Leviticus 26:16 and 22).
For this time I will send all My plagues on your heart, and on your servants, and on
your people- that you may know that there is none like Me in all the earth
(Exodus 9:14).
The blood shall be to you for a token on the houses where you are- and when I see
the blood, I will pass over you, and there shall no plague be on you to destroy you, when I
strike the land of Egypt
(Exodus 12:13).
Jesus said- for nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom- and there will be
famines, plagues (pestilences), and earthquakes in various places
(Matthew 24:7).
...a third of your people will die from famine and disease. A third
of them will be slaughtered by the enemy...and I will scatter a third to the winds and
chase them with My sword. Then at last My anger will be spent and I will be satisfied...
(Ezekiel 5:12-13).
This is what the Sovereign Lord says...disease and war will stalk your land, and I will
bring the sword of the enemy against you. I, the Lord, have spoken!
(Ezekiel 5:17).
...now this is what the Sovereign Lord says- how terrible it will be when
all four of these fearsome punishments fall upon Jerusalem- war, famine, evil beasts, and
plague- destroying all her people and animals. Yet there will be survivors, and
they will come here to join you as exiles in Babylon. You will see with your own
eyes how wicked they are, and then you will feel better about what I have done to
Jerusalem. When you meet them and see their behavior, you will agree that these
things are not being done to Israel without cause, says the Sovereign Lord
(Ezekiel 14:21-23).
...this is what the Lord Almighty says- I will send war, famine, and disease upon them
and make them like rotting figs- too bad to eat. Yes, I will pursue them with war, famine, and
disease, and I will scatter them around the world...
(Jeremiah 29:17-18).
...when they fast, I will not hear their cry- and when they offer burnt offering and
meal-offering, I will not accept them- but I will consume them by the sword, and by the
famine, and by the pestilence
(Jeremiah 14:12).
(Genesis 12:17).
While the flesh was yet between their teeth, before it was chewed, the anger of
Yahweh was kindled against the people, and Yahweh struck the people with a very great plague
(Numbers 11:33).
even those men who did bring up an evil report of the land, died by the plague before Yahweh
(Numbers 14:37).
Behold, these caused the children of Israel, through the counsel of Balaam, to commit trespass
against Yahweh in the matter of Peor, and so the plague was among the congregation of Yahweh
(Numbers 31:16).
If you do not carefully observe all the words of this law that are written in this scroll, that
you may fear this glorious and awesome name- The Lord Your God, then the Lord will bring upon
you and your descendants extraordinary plagues- great and prolonged plagues- and serious and
prolonged sicknesses. Moreover He will bring back on you all the diseases of Egypt, of which
you were afraid, and they shall cling to you. Also every sickness and every plague, that is
not written in this Book of the Law, will the Lord bring upon you until you are destroyed
(Deuteronomy 28:58-61).
Could the death spoken of here in this scripture be spiritual death? I will let you decide.
It appears when the words death and Hades are used in the same scripture in Revelation it
appears to refer to spiritual death. Spiritual death or the second death is when a person sends
himself or herself, after literal death, to the eternal lake of fire via certain wrong choices
they have made and acted on. Yes, God is the Judge but the results of the actions of mankind's
free will are examined by Him. False prophets and those who deceive others in opposition to God's will- such
as the spiritual adultery of false teaching, spiritual fornication such as the worshiping of
other gods or idols, and unholy acts such as committing sexual immorality and eating things
sacrificed to idols will result in a one way trip to the lake of fire. Hense the statement,
"I will kill her children with (Spiritual) Death."
Are there other scrolls in the bible that appear to reveal this? Yes. Here are a few:
This scripture is revealed in Revelation Scroll Number One-
I AM He who lives, and was dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore. Amen. And I
have the keys of Hades and of Death
(Revelation 1:18).
So I looked, and behold, a pale horse. And the name of him who sat on it was Death,
and Hades followed with him
(Revelation 6:8).
The sea gave up the dead who were in it, and Death and Hades delivered up the dead
who were in them. And they were judged, each one according to his works
Then Death and Hades were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death
(Revelation 20:13-14).
(Isaiah 28:16-20).
So it was that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels to Abraham's bosom. The rich man
also died and was buried. And being in torments in Hades, he lifted up his eyes and saw Abraham
afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom. Then he cried and said- Father Abraham, have mercy on me,
and send Lazarus that he may dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue- for I am
tormented in this flame
(Luke 16:22-24).
(1 Peter 2:7-8).
God reveals His examination of the minds and hearts of individuals in some scrolls of Revelation:
It is revealed here in Revelation Scroll Number Five-
...I AM He who searches the minds and hearts...
(Revelation 2:23).
For God has put it into their hearts to fulfill His purpose, to be of one mind,
and to give their kingdom to the beast, until the words of God are fulfilled
(Revelation 17:17).
(1 Samuel 16:7).
Jesus said to her (the woman at the well)- go, call your husband, and come here.
The woman answered and said- I have no husband. Jesus said to her- you have well said- I have
no husband, for you have had five husbands, and the one whom you now have is not your
husband- in that you spoke truly
(John 4:16-18)...
Then they (others who believed) said to the woman- now we believe, not because of what you
said, for we ourselves have heard Him and we know that this is indeed the Christ, the Savior
of the world
(John 4:42).
Oh, let the wickedness of the wicked come to an end, but establish the just- for the
righteous God tests the hearts and minds
(Psalm 7:9).
It appears this revelation was previously revealed in Revelation Scroll Number Two
(Revelation 2:2). Please journey there for Gods's message or
(Ezekiel 18:30-32).
The heart is deceitful above all things, and it is exceedingly corrupt- who can know it?
I, Yahweh, search the mind, I try the heart, even to give every man according to his
ways- according to the fruit of his doings
(Jeremiah 17:9-10).
(Galatians 6:7-8).
