Yet this you have in your favor- you hate the works of the Nicolaitans- such work that I also hate
(Revelation 2:6).
Let all who have (spiritual) ears give heed to what the Spirit is saying to the Churches. To
the Overcomer- I will give the privilege of eating the fruit of the Tree of Life that is in the Paradise of God
(Revelation 2:7).
Are there any Bible scriptures that might help us understand these verses here
in Revelation? In my opinion I think so-
Are there other scrolls in the bible that appear to reveal this? Yes. Here are a few that
appear to be relevant-
The false god, Baal, is identified with the false god, Molech-
Because they have forsaken Me and made this an alien place, because they have burned incense
in it to other gods whom neither they, their fathers, nor the kings of Judah have known, and
have filled this place with the blood of the innocents- they have also built the high places of
Baal, to burn their sons with fire for burnt offerings to Baal, which I did not command or
speak, nor did it come into My mind (Jeremiah 19:4-5)...but they set their abominations in the
temple (house) that is called by My name, to defile it. And they built the high places of Baal
that are in the Valley of the Son of Hinnom, to cause their sons and their daughters to pass
through the fire to Molech, which I did not command them, nor did it come into My mind that
they should do this abomination, to cause Judah to sin
(Jeremiah 32:34-35).
(Judges 2:11-15).
And Elijah said to them- seize the prophets of Baal- do not let one of them escape. So they
seized them- and Elijah brought them down to the Brook Kishon and executed them there
(1 Kings 18:40).
(1 Kings 19:18).
So, it appears that some churches of Revelation allowed this evil cancer of the Nicolaitans
to take root and spread in their congregations- and the Lord was not happy about it-
...the teaching of the Nicolaitans- which thing I hate (Revelation 2:15).
(1 John 4:1-3).
So many times a person hears what he wants to hear
Revelation 2:7
and
disregards the rest
Let all who have (spiritual) ears give heed to what the Spirit is saying to the
Churches. To the Overcomer- I will give the privilege of eating the fruit of the Tree
of Life that is in the Paradise of God.
(Jesus said)...truly I say to you, the man whose ears are open to My word and who has
faith in Him who sent Me, has eternal life, he will not be judged, but has come from death into
life. Truly I say to you, the time is coming, it has even now come, when the voice of the Son
of God will come to the ears of the dead, and those hearing it will have life...
(John 5:24-25)...How is it you do not understand Me when I speak? It is because you
cannot spiritually understand what I am saying...
(John 8:43).
(1 Corinthians 2:14).
It is revealed in Revelation Scroll Number Two- Revelation 2:7,
It is revealed in Revelation Scroll Number Three- Revelation 2:11,
It is revealed in Revelation Scroll Number Four- Revelation 2:17,
It is revealed in Revelation Scroll Number Five- Revelation 2:29,
It is revealed in Revelation Scroll Number Six- Revelation 3:6,
It is revealed in Revelation Scroll Number Seven- Revelation 3:13,
It is revealed in Revelation Scroll Number Eight- Revelation 3:22, and
It is revealed in Revelation Scroll Number Nine- Revelation 13:9.
Are there other scrolls in the bible that appear to reveal this? Yes. Here are a few:
(Psalm 78:1-7 NLT).
(Matthew 11:13-15)...but others fell on good ground and yielded a crop- some a hundredfold,
some sixty, some thirty. He who has ears to hear, let him hear (Matthew 13:8-9)...then
the righteous will shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father. He who has ears to
hear, let him hear
(Matthew 13:43).
Also He said to them- is a lamp brought to be put under a basket or under a bed? Is it not to
be set on a lampstand? For there is nothing hidden that will not be revealed, nor has anything
been kept secret but that it should come to light. If anyone has ears to hear, let him hear
(Mark 4:21-23)...hear Me, everyone, and understand- there is nothing that enters a man from
outside that can defile him- but the things that come out of him, those are the things that
defile a man. If anyone has ears to hear, let him hear!
(Mark 7:14-16).
...but others fell on good ground, sprang up, and yielded a crop a hundredfold. When He had
said these things He cried- he who has ears to hear, let him hear (Luke 8:8)...Salt is
good- but if the salt has lost its flavor, how shall it be seasoned? It is neither fit for the
land nor for the dunghill, but men throw it out. He who has ears to hear, let him hear
(Luke 14:34-35).
The word that came to Jeremiah concerning all the people of Judah, in the fourth year
of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah, king of Judah (the same was the first year of Nebuchadrezzar
king of Babylon,) that Jeremiah the prophet spoke to all the people of Judah, and to all the
inhabitants of Jerusalem, saying- from the thirteenth year of Josiah the son of Amon, king
of Judah, even to this day, these twenty-three years, the word of Yahweh has come to me, and
I have spoken to you, rising up early and speaking- but you have not listened.
Yahweh has sent to you all His servants the prophets, rising up early and sending them-
but you have not listened, nor inclined your ear to hear-
saying- return you now everyone from his evil way, and from the evil of your doings, and
dwell in the land that Yahweh has given to you and to your fathers, from of old and even
forevermore- and do not go after other gods to serve them or worship them, and do not provoke
Me to anger with the work of your hands- and I will do you no harm. Yet you have not listened
to Me, says Yahweh- that you may provoke Me to anger with the work of your hands to your own hurt...
(Jeremiah 25:1-7).
(2 Kings 17:7-18).
They feared the Lord, yet served their own gods- according to the rituals of the nations from
among whom they were carried away. To this day they continue practicing the former rituals- they
do not fear the Lord, nor do they follow their statutes or their ordinances, or the law and
commandment which the Lord had commanded the children of Jacob, whom He named Israel, with whom
the Lord had made a covenant and charged them, saying- you shall not fear other gods, nor bow
down to them nor serve them nor sacrifice to them- but the Lord, Who brought you up from the
land of Egypt with great power and an outstretched arm, Him you shall fear, Him you shall worship,
and to Him you shall offer sacrifice. And the statutes, the ordinances, the law, and
the commandment that He wrote for you, you shall be careful to observe forever- you shall not
fear other gods. And the covenant that I have made with you, you shall not forget, nor shall
you fear other gods. But the Lord your God you shall fear- and He will deliver you from the
hand of all your enemies. However they did not obey, but they followed their former rituals.
So these nations feared the Lord, yet served their carved images- also their children and their
children's children have continued doing as their fathers did, even to this day
(2 Kings 17:33-41).
(Ezekiel 12:2).
