by sending His angel to His love slave, John
(Revelation 1:1)
who faithfully reported the word of God and the testimony of Jesus Christ- and about everything
he saw
(Revelation 1:2).
Blessed is (blessings on) he who reads and those who hear the words of this prophecy, and keep the

Revelation 1:1
Revelation 1:2
This is the Revelation of Jesus Christ that God gave to Him to show to His Overcomers
the (future) events that must speedily come to pass- and He verified this
by sending His angel to His love slave, John.
Who Is Jesus Christ?
The Testimony of Jesus Christ involves the revelation of Who He is. So, what is this
revelation? Is this revelation found in the scrolls of Revelation? Well, let us take a look:
This testimony about Jesus Christ is revealed in Revelation Scroll Number One-
...Jesus Christ, the faithful witness, the firstborn from the dead, and the ruler over
the kings of the earth...who loved us and washed us from our sins in His own blood,
and has made us kings and priests to His God and Father...He is coming with clouds, and every
eye will see Him, even they who pierced Him. And all the tribes of the earth will mourn because
of Him...
I Am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End, says the Lord, Who is and
Who was and Who is to come, the Almighty (Revelation 1:5-8)...I Am the Alpha and the Omega,
the First and the Last (Revelation 1:11)...I Am the First and the Last...I Am He who lives, and
was dead, and behold, I Am alive forevermore. Amen. And I have the keys of Hades and of Death
(Revelation 1:17-18).
He who holds the seven stars in His right hand, Who walks in the middle of the seven golden lampstands
(Revelation 2:1).
...the First and the Last- Who was dead and came to life
(Revelation 2:8).
He who has the sharp two-edged sword
(Revelation 2:12).
...the Son of God, Who has eyes like a flame of fire, and His feet like fine brass
(Revelation 2:18).
He who has the Seven Spirits of God and the seven stars
(Revelation 3:1).
He Who is holy, He Who is true- He Who has the key of David- He who opens and no one
shuts, and shuts and no one opens
(Revelation 3:7).
...the Amen, the Faithful and True Witness, the Beginning of the creation of God
(Revelation 3:14).
You created all things, and by Your will they exist and were created (Revelation 4:11).
...Him who lives forever and ever, Who created Heaven and the things that are in it, the
earth and the things that are in it, and the sea and the things that are in it...
(Revelation 10:6).
...You are righteous, O Lord, the One who is and Who was and Who is to be...
(Revelation 16:5).
And I fell at his feet to worship him. But he said to me- see that you do not do that! I am
your fellow servant, and of your brethren who have the testimony of Jesus. Worship God! For the
testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy. Now I saw Heaven opened, and behold, a white
horse. And He who sat on him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness He judges and
makes war. His eyes were like a flame of fire, and on His head were many crowns. He had a name
written that no one knew except Himself. He was clothed with a robe dipped in blood, and His
name is called The Word of God. And the armies in heaven, clothed in fine linen, white and
clean, followed Him on white horses. Now out of His mouth goes a sharp sword, that with it He
should strike the nations. And He Himself will rule them with a rod of iron. He Himself treads
the winepress of the fierceness and anger of Almighty God. And He has on His robe and on His
thigh a name written- KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS
(Revelation 19:10-16).
I AM the Root and the Offspring of David, the Bright and Morning Star
(Revelation 22:16)...surely I AM coming quickly (in the quickness of due time)
(Revelation 22:20).
(John 14:6).
When Jesus came into the region of Caesarea Philippi, He asked His disciples, saying- who
do men say that I, the Son of Man, am? So they said- some say John the Baptist, some Elijah,
and others Jeremiah or one of the prophets. He said to them- but who do you say that I am?
Simon Peter answered and said- You are the Christ, the Son of the living God. Jesus answered
and said to him- blessed are you, Simon Bar-Jonah, for flesh and blood has not revealed this to
you, but My Father Who is in Heaven
(Matthew 16:13-17).
(1 John 1:1-4).
Who is a liar but he who denies that Jesus is the (divine) Christ? He is antichrist who denies
the (divine) Father and the Son. Whoever denies the Son does not have the Father either, he who
acknowledges the Son has the Father also. Therefore let that abide in you that you heard from
the beginning. If what you heard from the beginning abides in you, you also will abide in the
Son and in the Father. And this is the promise that He has promised us- eternal life. These
things I have written to you concerning those who try to deceive you...
(1 John 2:22-26).
...the testimony of Christ was confirmed in you (1 Corinthianso 1:6)...but of Him you are in
Christ Jesus, who became for us wisdom from God- and righteousness and sanctification and redemption
that, as it is written- he who glories, let him glory in the Lord
(1 Corinthianso 1:30-31).
Prophecy can involve, but is not limited to, both foretelling and forthtelling.
Some events can be foretold to take place beforehand. An example of this might be the second
coming (second advent) of Christ
(Revelation 19:11-16). On the other hand there is forthtelling. This can include events that
involve human behaviors, beliefs, customs, and worship. An example of this might be the fact
that Christ rebuked some in the early church who believed in the false doctrine of the
Nicolaitans. God revealed the fact, twice, that He hated this false doctrine
(Revelation 2:15). And there are other examples not mentioned here.
Besides being divine, Jesus Christ is a mighty Prophet in word and in power. He knows the future
because He is eternally existent-
Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever
(Hebrews 13:8).
The Lord your God will raise up for you a Prophet like me from among your fellow
Israelites, and you must listen to that Prophet (Deuteronomy 18:15)...
I will raise up a Prophet like you from among their fellow Israelites. I will tell that Prophet
what to say, and He will tell the people everything I command Him
(Deuteronomy 18:18).
For Moses truly said to the fathers- The Lord your God will raise up for you a Prophet like me
from your brethren. Him you shall hear in all things, whatever He says to you. And it shall be
that every soul who will not hear that Prophet shall be utterly destroyed from among the people
(Acts 3:22-23).
This is that Moses who said to the children of Israel- The Lord your God will
raise up for you a Prophet like me from your brethren. Him you shall hear
(Acts 7:37).
All things that I have heard from My Father, I have made known unto you
(John 15:15).
The Spirit of Truth will show you things to come
(John 16:13).
He shares this in several scrolls of Revelation.
In Revelation Scroll Number One He states that He reveals the future-
Write...the things that will take place after this (Revelation 1:19)...events that must
speedily come to pass...(Revelation 1:1).
Come up here, and I will show you things that must take place after this
(Revelation 4:1).
...the Lord God...sent His angel to show His Overcomers the events that must speedily come to
pass. Behold, I AM coming quickly! Blessed is he who keeps the words of the forthtelling
(prophecy) of this book
(Revelation 22:6-7).
...who faithfully reported the word of God and the testimony of Jesus Christ- and about
everything he saw.
What is the testimony of Jesus? God appears to answer that question for us-
...for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy (Revelation 19:10). What is the spirit
of prophecy? As mentioned already, prophecy can involve forth telling (preaching, verbal
witnessing, et cetera) and foretelling future events. So, the Testimony of Jesus Christ
involves, but is not limited to, what Christ taught and preached as well as what He had to say
about future events. God reveals the fact that there is such a testimony in His word:
The fact that there is such a testimony is revealed in Revelation Scroll Number One-
...who bore witness to the word of God, and to the testimony of Jesus (Revelation 1:2).
I, John...was on the island that is called Patmos for...the testimony of Jesus Christ
(Revelation 1:9).
And the dragon...went to make war with the rest of her offspring, who...have the
testimony of Jesus Christ
(Revelation 12:17)
...I am your fellow servant, and of your brethren who have the testimony of Jesus
...for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy
(Revelation 19:10).
